Have you heard of Apple TV?

It’s a device Apple released some time not to long ago that allows you to stream your videos, music, pictures to your TV from your Mac or PC. Neat! Wait, I almost forgot...it doesn’t do much besides that. In fact, I haven't heard the words, "Apple TV" from Jobs' mouth since he announced the damn thing. Apparently Apple is under the impression that a product must match the total sales of the iPod in order to be upgraded. Pooey.

I like to think of Apple TV as Apple’s hobby project. They made it, it works and that’s about it. Minus the fact they upgraded the hard drive, the device hasn’t seen any love on Apple’s part. If you want to consider You Tube love on Apple’s behalf, please go right ahead. However the next time you’re watching a video of a dog pooping on a baby, ask yourself if that’s what love truly is.

You have to admire the attempt, but when you’re already giving the consumer a remote to control the device -- you might as well give them full control and allow them to develop their own apps to share with the world. Besides, it’s not like they won’t hack it anyways.
